Perspective
“God knew the terrible choices the terrorists would make and that Todd Beamer would die as a result. He knew my children would be left without a father and me without a husband,” shared Lisa Beamer, a widow whose husband helped divert the fourth plane from its destructive path on September 11, 2011. “Yet…in His perspective on the big picture, He knew it was better to allow the events to unfold as they did rather than redirect Todd’s plans to avoid death.”
The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
Proverbs 10:28
Beneath her signature, Lisa has also written, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.” (Genesis 50:20) Perhaps like Lisa you’ve known unimaginable sadness, yet experienced the joy-tinged assurance of God’s eternal promise. This hope comes not from your own good works, but because Jesus your Savior gives you His perspective in tragedy. Some choose to do great wrong which alienates them from God. Still, the Lord offers hope to all who recognize their need and surrender to His plan.

Pray that this country’s military and national leaders might be drawn to God and His hope, even joy, in the midst of their loneliness and loss. He is faithful!
